International Technical Standard is basis for Quality Management System requirements for product and service providers in oil and gas industries
Corpac Steel Products, Corp. (www.corpacsteel.com), a global steel distribution and trading company, has earned ISO/TS 29001:2010 certification, a Technical Standard for quality management systems (QMS) requirements specific to the oil and gas industries. The formal certificate, issued by Det Norske Veritas Certification, Inc. on August 15, 2011, recognizes that Corpac conforms to the management system standard as a product and service provider to the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. The statement is valid for Distribution and Trading of Coated and Un-coated Line Pipe; Oil Country Tubular Goods; Structural & Standard Products; Valves & Fittings; and Electrical Conduit.

ISO/TS 29001:2010 is the result of cooperation between the American Petroleum Institute (API) and ISO technical committee ISO/TC 67 covering materials, equipment and offshore structures for petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. The entities developed ISO/TS 29001, also published as API Q1, to provide a single QMS document to meet the needs of the oil and gas industries worldwide, specifically the major petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas organizations, as well as government and regulatory agencies. The TS 29001 certification provides a basis for qualification of the QMS of equipment manufacturers and service suppliers.

CORPAC Steel Products Secures $150 Million Credit Facility for Global Expansion

Corpac Steel Products, Corp. (www.corpacsteel.com), a global steel distribution and trading company, has closed on a new syndicated revolving credit facility of US $150 million. The facility, which includes an accordion feature, will be primarily used for Corpac’s continuing growth by funding its global operations. The facility was led by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and is also provided by BankUnited, HSBC, Mercantile Commerce Bank and Societe Generale.
Jorge Woldenberg, Chief Executive Officer of Corpac, commented: “I am very pleased to close on this facility, which extends our financial strength and gives us the flexibility to capitalize on opportunities as and when they arise.
